My article on “Writing a Biography” is in the June 2026 issue of Writing Magazine, published by Warners Group Publications.

The article gives advice on writing short or long form biographies of interesting and/or famous people, and covers choosing your subject, doing your research, and publishing and marketing. I interviewed two successful biographers for the article – Sharon Wright, who is an expert on the Brontë sisters and wrote a No.1 bestseller on the life of their mother, Maria Branwell Brontë; and Tony Nicholson who has written acclaimed biographies of both Larry Grayson and Sir Ken Dodd.

I have written numerous biographies of women writers for print and online publications, and am currently working on a book-length project.
