An Evening with George Sephton

It was a real treat to hear George Sephton in conversation with Ragnhild Lund Ansnes at Penny Lane Church as part of this year’s Smithdown Litfest.

George is a stadium announcer, matchday DJ and voiceover artist. He is popularly known as ‘The Voice of Anfield’. For the past fifty years, Sephton has been at Anfield for all but a handful of home fixtures, as well as travelling with the team to major finals.

He spoke to Ragnhild about his book Voice of Anfield; and the highs of winning numerous league titles and European Cups, to the lows of Heysel and Hillsborough.

Ragnhild is an author, journalist, motivational speaker, broadcaster and co-owner of the LFC boutique Hotel TIA in Anfield Road. She is the author of four books about Liverpool FC and was the editor for the Norwegian translation of Bill Shankly’s autobiography and she has written Bruce Grobbelaar’s autobiography «Life in a Jungle.
