Anyika Onuora at the Smithdown Litfest

This year’s Smithdown Litfest finished with a brilliant event at Sefton Park Palm House with Olympic medalist Anyika Onuora.

Anyika was born in Liverpool and rose to prominence at the city’s famous Harriers club. Over a career spanning nearly two decades, she was one of the fastest women in the world and featured at three Olympics, winning a 4x400m bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games, as well as enjoying further medal success at the World Championships, European Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Nick Gordon interviewed Anyika about her career, and in particular about her autobiography, My Hidden Race.

It was great to meet Anyika and to hear her story, and a good evening was had by all.
