Hardacre comes to television

I’m thrilled to reveal that Hardacre by C L Skelton is to be a six-part television period drama for Channel 5.

The new series, called The Hardacres, is being made by Playground Entertainment, the production company behind Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small. Filming will take place in late 2023 until early 2024.

I rediscovered Hardacre in 2014. It had been a huge bestseller in the 1970s, but out-of-print for many years. Working with the author’s literary estate, my company Wyndham Books reissued the book and its sequel. Hardacre went on to be a No.1 bestseller in the Kindle Family Saga chart in the US, UK and Australia.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Clem Skelton’s characters come to life on screen, and delighted that his gripping family saga will reach a whole new audience.
